Plot. Falsehoods is the story of 3 men, Raja Oberoi (Aamir Khan), Raghavan Mathai (John Abraham) and Anjali Mathai (Katrina Kaif) and how they each deceive each other. Anjali Mathai meets Raja Oberoi for the first time and falls in love with him, he with her. Raghavan, a police inspector, is later introduced.

Raghavan gets to know that Anjali is Raja's only daughter and the reason behind his mysterious ways. Raja's con is later exposed and he leaves home. Raja Oberoi is convicted and sentenced to prison for a long time. A rich guy Vijay (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is also introduced in the story who has an affair with Anjali. Oberoi is released from the prison and his two friends are also at his mercy and have to take on Raja and save Anjali.

Inspiration. This film is based on the movie Slumdog Millionaire and its screenplay is written by Simon Beaufoy. It is also inspired by the 1999 novel, Charcoal Burner by Ben Fountain. The novel follows a similar storyline, but the movie tells a tale much bigger than the novel, with more plot twists. Directed by Raju Hirani, it features Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and John Abraham in lead roles.

Locations. The film is shot mostly in Mumbai.

Visuals. Falsehoods is directed by Raju Hirani and is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Aditya Chopra. This is Hirani's first movie in Bollywood after the success of his film, Lage Raho Munnabhai.
